Pepagan
Pepagan or bark is the outermost layer of stems and roots of woody plants. In technical terms, referring pepagan all parts outside the cambium tissue. Pepagan cover the wood and consists of the inner and outer. The inside, which in mature stems is living tissue, including the innermost periderm. The outer layer of the old shaft including surface tissue of dead stems, along with parts of the innermost periderm and all the tissues on the outer side of the periderm. The outer layer of the tree is also called rhitidoma.
